Privacy Policy

ApplyLikeMe provides job-search organization, application tracking, resume and cover-letter tools, AI-assisted drafting, public career profiles, community features, delegation and messaging, a progressive web app, and a browser extension. This Privacy Policy explains how ApplyLikeMe (“ApplyLikeMe”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles personal data across those services.

Depending on how you use the service, we may process:

• Account data: email address, authentication identifiers, name, username, profile photo and contact details.
• Career and document data: resumes, work history, education, skills, professional summaries, portfolio links, profile notes, photographs, cover letters and document versions.
• Job-search data: job URLs, companies, roles, descriptions, qualifications, salary information, application dates, stages, notes, follow-ups, interviews and outcomes.
• Collaboration and public content: public-profile content, community topics, comments, votes, shared journeys, delegate permissions, tasks and messages.
• Technical data: device/browser information, authentication and security records, service logs, timestamps, notification state, sync state, public-profile views and diagnostic information.
• Support and plan data: communications with us, service preferences and, if paid plans are introduced or used, plan and transaction status. Payment-card details should be handled by the applicable payment provider rather than stored directly by ApplyLikeMe.

We receive information directly from you when you create an account, edit a career profile, upload or build a CV, add an application, post publicly, invite a delegate, send a message or contact support. We also derive structured information from files and job links you submit and from actions you take within the service.

The browser extension may detect job-related content on HTTPS pages you visit. It reads the current URL and relevant page content for job detection. Detected information remains on your device unless you choose to save it or enable an automatic-save feature.

We use personal data to provide and secure accounts; save, synchronize and restore workspace data; create and tailor documents; track applications; operate collaboration, public-profile and community features; respond to support requests; prevent abuse; maintain service reliability; and comply with law.

Depending on the context and applicable law, processing is based on performance of our agreement with you, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, or compliance with a legal obligation. Where consent is the basis, you may withdraw it for future processing.

When you request AI-assisted CV parsing, drafting, tailoring, scoring, job extraction, cover-letter generation, profile structuring or filtering, the content needed to complete that request may be sent to an AI service provider. This can include resume text, career information and a selected job description.

AI output may be incomplete or inaccurate. You control whether to use it and should review generated material before submitting an application. ApplyLikeMe does not use AI output to make hiring decisions and does not guarantee employment or an application outcome.

The ApplyLikeMe Job Capture extension detects likely job pages and lets you save a job URL and extracted job details to your account. When you are authenticated on an authorized ApplyLikeMe domain, the website may securely pass session information to the extension so it can save to your account. Signing out clears the linked extension session.

Pending captures may be held locally for offline synchronization and removed after successful upload. The extension is not intended to read unrelated sensitive content, sell browsing history, or use browsing activity for targeted advertising.

The PWA and dashboard may store limited workspace data, settings, cached assets and pending changes in browser storage or IndexedDB so features can work quickly or offline. When you are signed in and connectivity is available, eligible information synchronizes with the cloud account associated with your user ID.

Clearing browser data, uninstalling the app or extension, or using a different device can remove data that has not synchronized. Shared devices should be protected and signed out after use.

We disclose information only as reasonably necessary to operate the service, including to hosting and database providers, AI providers when you invoke an AI feature, email or authentication providers, job/brand information providers, monitoring and security providers, professional advisers, and payment providers if applicable.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, in connection with a corporate transaction, or at your direction. We do not sell personal data or share it for third-party targeted advertising.

Career profiles are private unless you deliberately publish one. A published profile has a shareable URL and may be viewed, copied, indexed or reshared by others. Only publish information you are comfortable making public.

Community usernames, topics, comments, votes and shared journeys are public or visible according to the feature’s stated setting. Delegates can access only the resources and permission levels you assign; you remain responsible for choosing trusted delegates and reviewing access.

ApplyLikeMe is designed for users in multiple countries. Our service providers may process information outside your country of residence, including in the United States, the European Economic Area or other locations where they operate. Privacy protections may differ between jurisdictions.

Where applicable law requires it, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, contractual protections or another lawful transfer mechanism.

We retain account and workspace information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, maintain security, enforce agreements and meet legal obligations. Retention differs by data type and context.

Deleted information may remain temporarily in backups, synchronization queues, audit or fraud-prevention records until routine deletion or expiry. Public content copied by others may remain outside our control.

We use measures intended to protect information, including authenticated access, user-level database controls, encrypted transport, permission checks, restricted service credentials and operational monitoring. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep your password confidential, use a secure device and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.

Subject to applicable law, you may request information about processing, access your data, correct inaccurate data, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, request deletion, or receive portable data. You may also unpublish profiles, delete content where supported, revoke delegate access, control notifications and sign out of the extension.

EU, EEA and UK users. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, rights may include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent and the right to complain to the data-protection authority where you live or work. You may also have protections concerning decisions based solely on automated processing. ApplyLikeMe’s AI drafting and scoring tools assist you; they do not make employment decisions about you.

United States users. Depending on your state and whether the relevant law applies to ApplyLikeMe, you may have rights to know or access categories and specific pieces of personal information, correct or delete information, obtain a portable copy, opt out of certain sale, sharing or targeted-advertising practices, limit certain uses of sensitive information, and receive equal service when exercising privacy rights. ApplyLikeMe does not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Send a request to legal@applylikeme.com. We may verify your identity, honor an authorized agent where required, and retain information where legally permitted or required. You may appeal or complain to your competent privacy regulator where applicable.

The service is not directed to children under 18 and paid plans or contractual features require legal capacity. We do not knowingly solicit personal data from a child without the authorization required by applicable law. Contact us if you believe a child’s information has been provided improperly.

ApplyLikeMe uses essential authentication cookies and browser storage for sessions, security, preferences, offline operation and synchronization. We may use limited measurement or diagnostic technologies to understand performance. We do not currently describe these technologies as third-party advertising cookies; if that changes, this Policy and any required consent controls will be updated.

We may update this Policy when features, providers or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated and material changes may be communicated in the service. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised Policy, but we will seek consent where the law requires it.
